Let Us Assume

by Chris Hammond

It is what it is…
& I yam what I yam
That’s all…
Oh Well.

Time has come to meet me
Where I was sitting amongst
A Red Hot Moment
Trying to tweak the mechanism
To my advantage

Was it glamor, was it romance
A pack rat’s intrigue?

Everything that shines, stays
Found objects of the heart
Hiding within a drumbeat
Sometime the music let’s me in
I can feel it when I’m there

Sing when we are together
Like bubbles in midnight wine
Part you in me, part me in you
Is THIS what “it” is?
Are We?
